Engine Block Decking

Decking an engine block is the process of cutting down the portion of the block where the cylinder heads meet. It is sometimes necessary to remove material from this part of the block in order to square up the cylinder heads.

Cylinder Head Surfacing

Cylinder head surfacing is the process of removing material from the cylinder head to help achieve flatness, a smooth surface for the head gasket to mate to, or to aid in increasing the engines compression ratio.

Engine Cylinder Honing

Engine cylinder honing refers to the process that provides the final size and finish pattern on the cylinder walls. Honing ensures a round cylinder and allows the piston rings to seal tightly, allowing for maximum power production and reducing blow-by.

Engine Cylinder Boring

Cylinder boring is a process where a specialized machine removes damaged material from the cylinder walls by spinning a special carbide tool inside of the cylinder. The wall of the cylinder is made smooth so that the piston can move up and down with minimal friction and allows for maximum compression.

Engine Main Bore Align Honing

With main bearings, a worn, out-of-round or damaged bore can be restored back to standard ID by grinding or milling the mounting surface of the main caps, bolting the caps back on the block, and then line honing to their original dimensions

Engine Block Sleeving

Cylinder sleeving is the process of replacing or adding a cast iron sleeve into your engine blocks cylinder hole. Some engine blocks have a cast iron sleeve in an aluminum block, some have no existing sleeves, and some are cast iron sleeves in a cast iron block.
